Courtney Coakley has been dancing since the age of 5. She trained under Ami M Yaro starting at the age of 11 and through high school. She competed throughout high school at numerous local and national dance competitions, and was the recipient of many high point awards and dance titles. Courtney was a 4 year member and captain of the Johnston High School varsity dance team.

Courtney participated in many Iowa Dance Theatre productions, and was a charter member of what is now Yaro Dance Company.

Courtney graduated from Iowa State University in May of 2012 with a BS in Elementary Education. She was a 2 year member of the Iowa State Dance Team, performing at football and basketball games, as well as appearances at fundraising and charity events. Courtney was an assistant coach for the Iowa CATS All-Star Dance Team in 2010.

Courtney has been a guest teacher at many local dance studios including Inspiring Dance and Amy's School of Dance. She also substitute teaches in Johnston and Urbandale elementary schools. Courtney is currently the dance team coach at North Polk High School.

She is excited to share both her studio and dance team training with younger dancers!
