Biography

Katherine is originally from Des Moines, Iowa where she trained under the direction of Ami Yaro and performed with Iowa Dance Theatre. She went on to graduate from the University of Utah and earn her Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in ballet as a scholarship member of Utah Ballet, the school’s resident company. Throughout her training she has studied with Pacific Northwest Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Ballet West, Nashville Ballet, BalletMet, Korean Ballet Theatre and on full scholarship with Joffrey Ballet.

Katherine is a current Principal dancer with Ballet Vero Beach in Vero Beach, Florida where she has had the honor of originating the roles of the Sugar Plum Fairy in the Nutcracker and Aurora in the Sleeping Beauty as well as dancing the lead in Nilas Martin’s staging of Flower Festival. Katherine has performed as a guest artist for Iowa Dance Theater in Des Moines as well as internationally in Dubai, UAE and Seoul, South Korea. In addition to dancing Katherine has a passion for education and outreach and has been involved in implementing numerous outreach programs in both Southern Florida and around the Midwest.
