Biography
Nick M. Rice is a versatile performer, choreographer, adjudicator, and dance educator based in Des Moines, Iowa. He has trained at respected institutions including EDGE PAC, the Millennium Dance Complex in Los Angeles, and the Joffrey Ballet School in New York City. His professional work spans dance, theater, show choir, and creative direction.
Nick’s choreography has been featured at the Iowa Choreography Festival, the Des Moines Arts Festival, and on WHO 13’s Hello Iowa!. He has worked with artists such as Jessalyn (JoJo) Siwa, performed with the Iowa Energy High Voltage Dancers, and appeared professionally with Iowa Dance Theatre and Ballet Des Moines.
As an educator, Nick is a certified instructor through the Nan Giordano Certification Program®, Acrobatic Arts®, and Dance Masters of America™. He was recently elected as Secretary for Chapter #34 of Dance Masters of America and is a member of the National Future Leaders Council. He has also taught as a convention instructor for Dance Masters of Mid-America, sharing his passion for technique, performance, and artistry with dancers across the region.
An active leader in the dance community, Nick plays a key role with the Iowa Choreography Festival as producer, choreographer, performer, mentor, and board member. His classes are known for being high-energy, detail-driven, and inspiring—challenging dancers to grow while fostering a strong sense of joy and artistry in movement.
